vertical Axis Wind Turbines

Central Group can supply and install vertical axis wind turbines which offer a very reliable, efficient and cost-effective alternative to conventional Horizontal Axis Wind Turbines.

Vertical axis wind turbines are less intrusive visually, which benefits areas such as National Parks and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. They are also quieter, more bird and bat-friendly and less expensive to maintain compared to horizontal turbines.

Three years in development, we can supply a unit which is manufactured in the UK and incorporates a wealth of patented design features which greatly enhance power generating output at low wind speeds and significantly reduce the total costs of ownership. The design team includes world leading aerodynamic, mechanical and electrical engineers.

The Feed in Tariff (FIT) scheme guarantees a payment for all the electricity generated by your system (the generation tariff).  Further payment is made for any electricity you do not use and so export to the grid (the export tariff). These payments are guaranteed, indexed linked and are in addition to the savings you make by using the electricity you generate on site.

In total there are at least 3 key financial benefits:

The Generation Tariff – a set rate paid by your energy supplier for each unit (or kWh) of electricity that you generate. This rate reduces each year for new entrants to the scheme, but once you join you will continue on the same tariff for 20 years. This tariff is indexed linked to the retail price index (RPI) and so increases each year with inflation.

The Export Tariff – you will receive a further 4.5p/kWh from your energy supplier for each unit that you do not use and so export back to the electricity grid.

Energy Bill Savings – you will make savings on your electricity bills. The amount you save will vary depending how much of the electricity you use on site.

So in simplistic terms based on the national average of 11p/kWh you will receive a benefit of 0.11p saving and 0.14p FIT; 0.25p for every kWh of your own energy you use.  You will receive a benefit of 0.14p FIT and 4.5p export tariff so 18.5p/kWh for electricity that you generate but do not use and so export to the grid.

Other Benefits include

§  Guaranteed long term revenue stream

§  Adds to profitability of your existing business

§  Carbon reduction

§  Insulated from future energy price increases

§  Positive green energy statement
