In August 2016 Central received a received a phone call regarding a pumping station which had suffered damage following a period of unseasonal weather. The Field Service Engineers had requested urgent help to collect and repair 10 small pump drive motors which had been submerged during a flash flood.
A team visited the site on 23rd of August to collect the motors and bring them back to Central’s Knowsley based workshop. A number of engineers, including Central apprentices, carried out the appropriate repairs, which included dry out and general overhaul, enabling a quick turn-around ensuring the motors were back on site, up and running again just two days later.
The quick response from Central’s team - which included drivers, engineers, labourers and apprentices – ensured that water returned to local houses, businesses and a caravan park who were affected by the situation.
